Programme
Family Protection Programme โ Policy Terms
Generic summary of the parametric family protection cover, generated from the locked rating basis (version 2026-01-v1). Your personalised terms are presented at checkout and stored with your policy.
1. About this cover
This is a parametric, fixed-benefit family protection programme covering the named overseas dependants of a migrant worker. Benefits are fixed cash amounts paid on the occurrence of a covered trigger event, subject to the terms below.
CareBridge administers the programme on behalf of the underwriting insurer. Cover is provided under the master policy and the benefit schedule applicable to the tier selected for each dependant.
2. Benefit schedule
The fixed benefit amounts for each covered trigger, by tier, are set out below. Amounts for a dependant aged under 18 are capped at 50% of the amounts shown (death and critical illness).
| Benefit | Essential | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Death (lump sum) | $10,000 | $15,000 | $20,000 |
| Critical illness (lump sum) | $7,500 | $11,250 | $15,000 |
| Hospital cash (per night) | Not offered | Not offered | $50 |
| Hospital cash (annual cap) | โ | โ | $7,500 |
3. Waiting periods
No benefit is payable for a trigger event occurring within the waiting period, measured from the policy inception date. Standard waiting periods apply to every dependant. A declared pre-existing condition may extend the waiting period for the related trigger, as shown below.
| Trigger | Standard waiting period |
|---|---|
| Death | 1 month |
| Critical illness | 3 months |
| Hospital cash | 1 month |
6. Family aggregate limit
The maximum total benefit payable across all covered dependants under a single policy is $50,000 per policy year (the family aggregate limit).
Each approved claim reduces the remaining aggregate. Once the aggregate limit is exhausted, no further benefit is payable for the remainder of the policy year, and individual benefit amounts are capped at the remaining aggregate.
7. Underwriting outcomes โ refer & decline
- AUTO-ACCEPT: the dependant is covered at the indicated premium with no further review.
- REFER: the price shown is indicative only. Cover for that dependant is subject to insurer review and cannot be paid for or bound until approved.
- DECLINE: the benefit is not offered for that dependant. A quote containing a declined dependant cannot proceed until the declined dependant is removed.
8. Premium & payment
Premium may be paid monthly or as an annual upfront amount. Paying annually upfront attracts a 10% saving versus twelve monthly payments.
Cover incepts once the first premium is collected. Non-payment of premium may result in suspension or cancellation of cover.
9. Cancellation
[Placeholder โ cancellation terms to be confirmed with the insurer.] A cooling-off period and pro-rata refund basis will be specified here in the final policy wording. This section is a placeholder in the current programme version.
10. Making a claim
Claims are lodged against a policy, a named dependant and a trigger. Each trigger requires supporting documentation (for example a death certificate, hospital records or a medical report), verified before payment. Benefit amounts and eligibility are assessed against the terms stored with your policy at inception.
